Chiropractic Act
Acts (or "Statutes" as they are often called) are laws enacted by the Nova Scotia Government. The Chiropractic Act sets out the laws that govern the profession of Chiropractic in Nova Scotia.
Chiropractic Regulations
Regulations are laws. They outline rights, and create duties, obligations and responsibilities for the persons that are affected by them. They have the same binding legal effect as Statutes, but are made by persons or bodies to whom the Legislature has delegated its law-making power - such as the Governor in Council (the Lieutenant Governor acting on the advice of cabinet), or an administrative body.
Board Regulations
Board Regulations are Regulations made pursuant to sections 6(2), 9, and 64(3) of the Chiropractic Act. They are made by the Board.
