Incorporation Permit Requirements

Incorporation is governed under the Chiropractic Act Sections 74-88 and Chiropractic Regulations Sections 14-33.

An Incorporation Permit issued by NSCC is required if your business (must be majority owned by chiropractors) is incorporated with the NS Registry of Joint Stocks. The Incorporation permit must be displayed within the practice.  Incorporation Permits must cover all business locations.  Separate permits may be required for each location. 

Individual Chiropractors may require an incorporation permit if under an employment contact by a non-Chiropractor owned incorporated business.  Please contact the NSCC office for more information.

Application Process

• The NS College of Chiropractors must approve the business name in advance of business registration. Incorporation must request permission for use of name under the Chiropractic Regulations Section 26.
• The incorporation application will consist of:
• The completed Chiropractic Incorporation Application Form signed and notarized.
• A cheque for $200 payable to the NSCC (payment by credit card is also accepted)
• A copy of the Joint Stock and Trade Forms.
• A copy of the Memorandum of Association.
• Once all of the materials have been submitted, the application will be reviewed for completeness
• Once approved - a Permit Of Incorporation will be issued 

Renewal Process

• Every chiropractic incorporation permit expires annually on December 31.  All permits must be renewed (within 30 - 90 of expiration) no later than December 1.
• The renewal form will be completed online by logging into the membership portal. 
• A renewal fee of $100.00 is payable by credit card
• Once submitted, the renewal application will be reviewed for completeness
